A plan based on the materials
Wallboard, wood, insulation and flooring assemblies behave differently. The contractor should explain what can be dried, what needs removal and how access will be created. Equipment placement should follow the assessment rather than a fixed number of fans per room.
Monitoring matters
Ask what readings will be collected, where they will be taken and how they will be compared over time. Ambient humidity alone does not describe every affected material. Keep copies of the monitoring record and the agreed completion criteria.
Before equipment is removed
Confirm what final checks were performed and which repair work remains. Paint, trim and flooring installation should be sequenced with the condition of the materials. Drying time varies; a fixed promise before assessment can overlook concealed or layered construction.
A useful question
Can equipment be switched off overnight?
Ask the responsible contractor before changing equipment operation. Noise, power needs, occupancy and the drying plan should be discussed together so changes are understood and documented.
